We're a small, local rental business on the North Carolina coast — we collect only what we need to get a cart to your door and back again.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, phone number, the island and dates you want, your delivery address, and anything else you tell us when you call or email us.
- Information collected through Peek — when you pick an island under "Book Your Cart," checkout is hosted and operated by Peek, our reservation and payment provider. Peek collects the information you enter there (contact details, delivery address, rental dates, and payment information for billing) on our behalf, and handles the rental agreement and waiver that go with your reservation. Peek's own privacy policy governs how it handles that data.
- Basic website data — standard technical information (like browser type and pages viewed) that our web host's server logs collect automatically. We don't run advertising trackers or sell this data.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Take, confirm and deliver your golf cart reservation;
- Send booking confirmations, delivery and pickup details, and reminders;
- Answer questions and provide support before, during and after a rental; and
- Keep basic business records for accounting and legal purposes.
We do not sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
Text messaging (SMS) communications
With your consent, we use text messages to confirm a booking, let you know when your cart is on its way, coordinate free delivery and pickup — and, occasionally, to share seasonal offers or account updates.
- Consent. By giving us your mobile number — whether over the phone, by email, or during checkout on Peek — you agree to receive text messages from Blue Sail related to your rental. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of renting a cart.
- Message frequency varies depending on your reservation (for example, around your delivery and pickup dates).
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You'll receive one confirmation text, and we won't send any more unless you ask us to and opt back in.

- No sharing for marketing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent is not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. It's used only to deliver the rental communications described above, through our messaging and reservation providers.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers who help us run Blue Sail — principally Peek, for reservations, rental agreements, invoicing and payment processing — along with our SMS/voice provider for delivering the text messages and calls described above, and our web host. We don't sell your information to anyone, and we only disclose it beyond that if the law requires it or to protect our rights and safety.
Sharing of Personal Information
Blue Sail Beach Outfitters LLC will not share, sell, or disclose your personal information or mobile opt-in data to third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law. Your information is kept confidential and used solely for the purposes you have agreed to. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties. Text messaging opt-in data is not being shared with third parties.
Cookies and website data
This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to serve the font files. Peek's booking widget sets its own cookies when you open a checkout. We don't set advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
Data retention and security
We keep rental and billing records for as long as reasonably needed for business, accounting and legal purposes, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No online system is perfectly secure, but we don't ask for or store full payment card details ourselves — that's handled by Peek's payment processor.
Your choices
You can opt out of text messages at any time (reply STOP), ask us to stop calling or emailing you, or ask what information we have on file — just reach out using the contact details below.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults arranging a rental, and this site is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
